I graduated from UNCW in 2001 with a degree in Elementary Education and minor in Spanish. I proceeded to get my TEFL certificate in Barcelona, Spain and taught English for a year in San Sebastian, Spain. I got my first teaching job back in the states right here in New Hanover County. I was hired to teach middle grades math and found my passion. I have my middle grade math teaching certificate and my National Boards in Early Adolescence Math 6-9. I have been teaching math for over 22 years. I absolutely love helping kids learn to really enjoy math, meet them right where they are and break through the barriers and frustrations that they have faced!
I am married and have 2 kids. My oldest, Kaleigh, is now in 7th grade and Jacob is in 5th. I love plants and pets. Favorite food is sushi and I am a fall and winter girl. I do love the beach, but camping in the mountains and all the winter light glows make me happy.
I am looking forward to being a part of your middle school world and I am here to help make your journey a lot more smooth as your transition to high school.
