English III instruction will take place during the first semester. We will study American literature starting with Native American authors. Our guiding question is "Who is the American?" with a special emphasis on untold stories and unheard voices.
English IV instruction will take place during the second semester. We will study British literature starting with Old English works and move forward into Middle and Modern English and contemporary works. Our guiding question is "How did major British works influence literature around the world?"
I am excited to begin my seventeenth year of teaching! Throughout my career I have taught both middle and high school. I also spent the last several years as an instructional coach providing support and instructional training to teachers. My undergraduate degree is in English from UNC Chapel Hill and my master's degree is in education from UC Davis.
