Rising Freshmen

Information for current 8th grade students transitioning to Laney for the 26-27 school year to come in December/January.

Everything listed below is from last year.

• Public School Enrollments: Please refer to Planning Timeline.  

  • Those accepted Open Choice do not need to do anything further. We will have your course selections already in Powerschool or via the course selection sheet.

• Private/Charter/Home School Enrollments: Please refer to Enrollment Document.

  • Those applying to Laney via open choice still must complete an enrollment application with their districted school. If approved, that application/enrollment will be transferred to your school of choice. Once your enrollment reaches Laney, you will be emailed the course selection form.

• Students will register for districted school. High School counselors will make adjustments over the summer as necessary.

We are not able to accommodate individual meetings or personal tours during the school year. Please plan to attend our Rising 9th Grade Curriculum Night in February. We will also have an Open House in August.

Please work with your middle school counselor for registration and transition assistance.
