MATH ANXIETY & math TRAUMA

Math Anxiety and Math Trauma are real. Teens and adults who live with math anxiety and trauma describe it in different ways and have a wide range of experiences. Math anxiety can come from anywhere. It may have been a single instance in elementary school where a student provided a "wrong" answer or received one "bad" grade on a math test. Or, it could come from a lifetime of pressure from teachers, parents, mentors and students themselves. Often, students with math anxiety are especially hard on themselves and are afraid of failure.

If you think your child suffers from math anxiety or math trauma, here's some resources below that have been helpful with math students and with my own child. If you have something to add to the list, please let me know. I truly believe that all students are mathematicians.
