Melissa Huffman

I was born in Chattanooga, Tennesee but moved to Wilmington when I was 6 months old. I went to Carolina Beach Elementary School, Murray Middle School, and Ashley High School. When I graduated High School, I went to Cape Fear Community College for two in a half years for Nursing. I then transferred to Appalachian State University and ended up in Early Childhood education. I graduated with my Bachelors degree in Child Development with a concentation in Birth-Kindergarten education. I worked in private childcare centers for a couple of years before coming into the public school setting here at Johnson Pre-K. I started out as a Insructional Assistant for 2 years before becoming a lead teacher.

I have two beautiful children, a 4 year old and 1 year old, and two dogs. I love spending time with my family, cooking, and doing anything outside!
