People adopt a child and buy them games, presents, school supplies or clothing. Hot Thanksgiving meals, case management, vouchers for shopping or medications, and other aid is given too. • Cape Fear Toys for Tots Program. Address: 4510 Oleander Drive. Wilmington, NC 28403. Apply online. New, unwrapped toys are given to boys, girls, and children of all ages. The non-profit also has Hannukah and Kwanzaa assistance programs.

• Grace United Methodist Church - Alternative Gift Market. Address - 401 Grace Street. Wilmington, North Carolina 28401. (910) 763-5197. New Hanover County families can enroll into holiday help or get a basket of food.

• Catholic Charities. Main address is 4006 Princess Place Drive Wilmington, NC 28405. Call (910) 251-8130. The church supports both Brunswick as well as New Hanover county. Gifts, food, spiritual advice at Christmas, and toys are some of what is available.
