Mrs. Hannah Fitta-Dine

Hello & Welcome to 6th Grade Math!

I am thrilled to be your math teacher for the 2026–2027 school year! This will be my sixth year in education and my second year at Murray. Before teaching 6th grade, I spent four years teaching 5th grade math, giving me extensive experience helping students build a strong mathematical foundation and prepare for the transition to middle school. 

I understand how big the transition from elementary school to middle school can be, and I am excited to help make that transition a positive one. Having worked closely with 5th graders for several years, I know the skills students bring with them and how to help them successfully take the next step in their math journey. My goal is to create a classroom where students feel supported, challenged, and confident as they grow both academically and personally. I look forward to learning, growing, and celebrating successes together throughout the school year!

Education: I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2020 with my Bachelors of Arts degree and concentration in Math and Technology. 

My Favorites: I am a lover of Harry Potter, traveling, spending quality time with loved ones, teaching, and Taylor Swift. Some of my other favorite things include anything  Gluten-Free and of course STARBUCKS!!

Fun Facts: 

• I married my husband in 2024 on the 21st night of September (yes, because of the song). 

• I have two cats named Binx and Luna. (never thought I would ever be a cat mom, but my mother-in-law convinced me)

• I was New Hanover County School's Beginning Teacher of the Year for the 2022-2023 school year and was selected as one of the top 27 finalists for the 2023 Empower Beginning Teacher of the Year in North Carolina. I got to spend a week in Cullowhee, NC collaborating and learning from other beginning teachers in the state.

I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year. I cannot wait to celebrate many successes together!
