Welcome to the Library

Welcome to the library website. Please feel free to explore!

Library Policies and Procedures

  • Kindergartners, 1st and 2nd graders may check out 1 or 2 books, 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders may check out 3.

  • Library visits are every week. Books are due every week unless students are renewing (if possible books should be returned prior to class coming to the library).

  • There are no late fees. However, lost or damaged books must be replaced or paid for, so keeping your library books in the same safe, dry place is a money and time saver.

  • Students with outstanding books or unpaid lost book fees will not be able to check out new books until the issue is resolved.

  • Students may come return books or get new books outside of their class time with teacher permission or at recess any day the library is open.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email me at charlotte.white@nhcs.net

Resources

Getting students library access just got easier!

Click the Elementary, Middle, or High School Resource Center box on the right to learn more about available resources for students.

CLASS Project, or “Connecting Libraries and Schools for Success,” uses students' school identification numbers (lunch numbers) and school staff UID numbers instead of separate library cards. With their CLASS Project account, students and school staff can:

  • Access NHCPL research databases 24/7 anywhere you have an internet connection and your student/school ID number

  • Borrow digital materials such as e-books, e-audiobooks, and e-magazines

  • Borrow up to 5 print books, or audiobooks, or magazines at a time (no DVDs or music CDs) - Login to renew books using your student/staff ID number and PIN (the last 4 digits of that number)

  • There are no overdue fines or fees for CLASS Project accounts
