PURPLE UP DAY is Friday, April 11th, 2025! This day is set aside for communities to unites by wearing purple to demonstrate support and gratitude for the strength and sacrifies of military children. Please join NHHS in wearing purple on April 11th to show your support. We are also creating a Purple Up Wall of Honor. If you would like to participate, please email Ms. Padgett a picture of a family member that you would like to recognize or honor for their military service. You may also send a brief statement of appreciation or a special memory you would like to post on the wall.
New Hanover High School is located just south of one of the largest Marine Corps military bases , Camp Lejeune, which is in Jacksonville, NC. We are honored to support active military families and students, as well as students of retired families of military men and woman who live in the Wilmington area. This website is designed with the surrounding military communities in mind and aims to provide transitioning and current military families with local and national resources. Our primary goal is to ensure student success at NHHS. On this page, you will find a current list of programs and services for area military families, including current enrollment guidelines.
We hope that this information will assist you in making a seamless transition into our school family.
