Ms. Lisa Gattuso is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she received her Bachelor of Music Education Degree in 2010 and her Master of Music Education Degree in 2014. She also received her National Board Certification in 2017. Previously Ms. Gattuso has taught at Noble MS and Holly Shelter MS for a combined ten years. This is her sixteenth year working in New Hanover County.Â
Ms. Gattuso is currently the Junior Strings director for the Wilmington Symphony Youth Orchestras and the Orchestra Lead for NHCS. She served nine year as the event chair for the NC Eastern Region Solo and Ensemble Competition.
Students under Ms. Gattuso's direction have participated in All County and State orchestra events, and have received ratings of "Excellent" and "Superior" at the State Music Performance Adjudication Competition, Solo and Ensemble, and Music in the Parks at Carowinds. Ms. Gattuso plays the violin with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra, Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra, Opera House Theatre Company pit orchestra, and City Ballet Orchestra. She also plays for weddings and other private events. When not teaching or performing, Ms. Gattuso loves to crochet, cook, play with her two cats Gabriel and Clementine, and travel the world.
