Black history month

The stories of Wilmington's Black citizens are rich, wonderful and painful.  This month, please take some time to learn about our Black History!  Just strolling downtown you will see the markers that tell of history making attorneys, physicians, businessmen, journalists who were a part of a thriving city during reconstruction.  Also, please note our architecture - your city was home to some of the most talented Black architects and builders of their time.  We must remember the horrible atrocities of our past while taking the opportunity to celebrate Wilmington's Black citizens - past and present.
