Ms. Dancy

Hi Students! My name is Ms. Dancy and I am excited to begin teaching dance here at Laney High School. I have an enthusiasm for dance and a passion for teaching that I hope will come through in class.

I graduated from Appalachian State University with two bachelor’s degrees. One in Advertising, another in Commercial Photography and a minor in Spanish. Although these degrees differ from a dance education degree, I have been a dancer for over half my life. I began my dance career in studio dance focusing on Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Technique classes. I went on to dance collegiately for App State's dance team and then professionally for the NFL as a TopCat. That being said my true passion is teaching dance. I have over 7 years of experience as an instructor and coach in studio and school settings.

My hope is that we can have fun while growing as dancers!
