Welcome back to the 2023-2024 school year Hurricanes! My name is Amber Crump and this will be my twelfth year teaching Specially Designed Academics at Holly Shelter Middle School with our classroom paraeducator Candace Grice. We are so excited to get the school year started with our amazing students!
Welcome back to the 2023-2024 school year Hurricanes! My name is Amber Crump and this will be my twelfth year teaching Specially Designed Academics at Holly Shelter Middle School with our classroom paraeducator Candace Grice. We are so excited to get the school year started with our amazing students!
Our classroom routine will include daily functional academic instruction in the areas of Reading, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies. We will focus on teaching communication skills, social skills and daily living skills in order to promote independence both inside and outside of the classroom setting. We will participate in movement break activities each day in the gymnasium with all of our Holly Shelter SDA classmates and will attend Adapted PE classes and the school library weekly. Augmentative communication devices will be utilized as needed to facilitate maximum participation throughout the school day.
