I’m so excited to be joining Alderman as the new Media Coordinator—also known as the school librarian!

I have been a classroom teacher for 12 years, two of those years I was a STEM teacher. I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from UNCW and recently completed my master’s degree in Library Science from UNCG this past Christmas.

I grew up in Brunswick County just over the bridge and I have taught in 3 different county's in North Carolina.  I taught the last 6 years here in New Hanover County at Rachel Freeman School of Engineering.  

I absolutely love reading and am passionate about helping students discover books they’ll love, too. One of my biggest goals this year is to help every student see themselves as a reader and build a lifelong love for books.

Outside of school, I’m a huge fan of all things superhero and comic book related. I also proudly embrace my geeky side—K-pop, Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Anime and Disney are some of my favorites! 

I’m thrilled to be part of such a vibrant school community, and I can’t wait to get to know all of you this year!
