Hi hi! My name is Deirdre Taylor and I am the 5th grade science and math teacher. This will be my 3rd year in a classroom of my own, but I am proud to be able to call Holly Tree my home for the past 4.5 years. I completed my internship with Ms. Foreman in Spring 2022 and for the 2022-2023 school year I was a long term sub in 5th, 3rd, and 1st. I am so happy to see so many familiar faces from my time in 3rd grade!

I was born and raised in Mooresville, NC. Attending UNCW starting Fall 2018 is what brought me to Wilmington. I have always loved the beach so I knew Wilmington was the perfect place to start my professional career. Living here is also a great excuse for my parents and 3 sisters to take a trip to the beach!

Some of my favorite things include spending time with friends and family, going to the beach, listening to Taylor Swift, and trying new restaurants! I love to be crafty in my spare time and am always picking up new hobbies. 

Excited to teach another class of mini scientists and mathematicians!

My name is Ashley Wells and I am the 5th grade ELA and Social Studies teacher. This will be my 14th year teaching at Holly Tree! 

I have called Wilmington home since 1998. I attended Roland Grise Middle School and Hoggard High School! I earned my undergraduate degree from UNCW and master's degree from Liberty University. 

My favorite things include spending time with my two children, reading and Diet Coke. When I'm not at school, you can usually catch me outside playing with my kiddos!

I'm excited for a great year in 5th Grade!
