Bonnie Angel is a veteran educator and passionate advocate for high-quality mathematics instruction. Since 2011, she has served as the Mathematics Mentor at North Georgia RESA, supporting Pre-K through high school curriculum directors, administrators, coaches, interventionists, teachers, and students in strengthening instructional practices and deepening mathematical understanding.
In her role, Bonnie has developed and taught K–5 Mathematics Endorsement courses, written and facilitated sessions for the Georgia Council of Teachers of Mathematics (GCTM) and GaDOE Summer Math Academies, and served on numerous state and national committees. She actively supports schools and districts in implementing Georgia’s K–12 Mathematics Standards.
Bonnie brings extensive experience in designing and delivering professional learning on topics such as guided math, problem-solving strategies, building number sense, and using manipulatives effectively across all grade levels.
Before joining North Georgia RESA, she taught a range of subjects—including math, science, language arts, social studies, and special education—at Fannin County Middle School, where she also coached soccer. She later served as a middle school assistant principal and an elementary principal.
Bonnie is a past president of GCTM and has held leadership roles with the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics (NCSM) and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM). She continues to be active in state and national math organizations and currently assists with registration for the Georgia Math Conference at Rock Eagle.
As a national presenter and educational consultant, Bonnie partners with districts across the country. She believes every child deserves exceptional math instruction and is committed to helping teachers become the educators they would want for their own children. Her ultimate goal is to inspire generations of students and adults to love the beauty of mathematics.
