By developing a comprehensive standards alignment, you can confidently navigate the new Georgia ELA standards, ultimately improving student learning outcomes and ensuring they're equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills.

Open the 2015 ELA Georgia Standards of Excellence document linked in the alignment document.
Take your time to analyze each new standard and learning expectation. Closely review the 2015 standards and Teacher Guidance Documents to identify similar standards and language between the new ELA standards and the 2015 standards. Document any similarities between the two sets of standards and where the standard/expectation is located in the 2015 standards.
Consider and discuss how the standards and expectations under each big idea within this domain might look and sound like in the classroom. What might shift in teaching and learning by implementing the big ideas, standards, and expectations in this domain?
