In the last 5 years I’ve been on a journey of healing and liberation. What has deeply supported me in this path varies from Nonviolent Communication, Internal Family Systems and the Liberation lens of NGL. All these different frameworks have changed my life and the way I relate to people and conflict. This journey took me to grow capacity in digesting the daily life impacts that in the past I would just absorb, I learnt to be with my pain, connect with the longing within it and transform my narratives as a way of applying nonviolence in my daily living. During the sessions with me, I'll orient to accompany you with the same love and rigour I bring to myself everytime I'm connected with the shocks of what it means being part of systems that do not work for all.

I’m trained in nonviolent communication (NVC), zen buddhist practice, the work of Sarah Peyton and the Compass and am apprenticing in NGL’s approach to supporting other’s liberation. In NGL my main areas of focus relevant for Impact Digestion are feedback flow, NVC for Liberation and liberation from male socialisation. I imagine all of the above would likely bring some mix of these to any work we do together. I’m interested particularly in supporting those who see themselves as having a commitment to nonviolence (however you may define that) and supporting others in embodying that commitment.
Over the last 14 years since discovering Nonviolent Communication, I have learned how to engage more effectively with my own relational challenges and also to support others’. I have experience working with entrenched family conflict, challenges living in community, dynamics across sex and class training, and finding self-compassion about things I did that I regret. If you want to find a different approach to challenges in your life by transforming your pain into clarity about what you really want, I am keen to work with you.
I am so grateful for the marvelous gifts that Impact Digestion has brought to my life, such as how it has supported me to strengthen meaningful relationships and to create a basic foundation upon which to build purpose-based collaborations. I am in awe of how it has supported me in moving and transforming the energy that is stuck, allowing the emergence of new creative pathways. My journey with nonviolence started in activist movements, especially in Extinction Rebellion, then in experimenting with co-founding an ecovillage where I lived for 3 years and now within NGL. I long for all of us who are committed to contribute to create a world that works for all to have the support we need to realign ourselves with what we want to embody.

In my experience, when we connect with our needs, and can uncover and clarify our meaning-making within impactful experiences, it can be powerfully transformative and liberating for ourselves and others. Untangling needs and perspectives from impacts and narratives shaped by systemic conditions and norms can help us to reclaim and restore pieces of our individual and collective humanity in changing how we resolve our issues with ourselves and with each other. I have been holding a support function offering impact digestion for over three years now for participants of “Responding To The Call of Our Times”, a weekly coaching call with Miki Kashtan. Caring for the humanity of all people involved is a meaningful endeavor for me, and I aim to bring this into my work with others as much as possible. I look forward to this practice becoming more available to more people, and my hope is that it can contribute to us moving towards a world that works for all.
If you find yourself having thoughts about someone or yourself that might be interfering with the connection you want to have then I invite you to attempt to engage in impact digestion with my support. I am often engaging with my own limiting thoughts, beliefs, and patterns so that I can step into leadership bringing in the information that lives in me in a full and clean way. When I do this, particularly in the context of power differences, I find that it can support actual connection for the purpose of collaboration within dyads, groups, communities, and organisations. I am looking forward to working with you in any of these areas.

A bit about me: I'm first generation born to Egyptian immigrants to the US, mother of young Sophia, and have spent many years accompanying young women from marginalized experiences in India. I am especially passionate about accompanying those working on the front lines of social change across differences in power and privilege, which is my main area of work within NGL. I'm also apprenticing in what within NGL we're calling "Weaving Togetherness" and in supporting others' liberation, of which Impact Digestion is one practice. I'm also eager to support the functioning of intentional communities and those seeking to live out their lives in alternative ways.
