How this Course is Structured

Core Crew (NGL teams & support)

NGL is a vessel with a purpose, direction, and a bunch of people who are making that movement possible. The ultimate purpose of this course is to support those people to deepen their coherence as a crew, so that their efforts can yield more results with less expenditure of energy. If you know yourself to be part of this crew, whether you’re in a team or supporting with tasks we welcome you on board as part of the core group. This is the group that we plan to offer the most intensive support and coaching.

Birds (those outside of NGL or not directly supporting with tasks)

For those who are not part of the crew, we welcome you along in a way akin to the birds accompanying a ship. The birds see and experience everything, including sometimes landing on the ship and exploring it that way. In human terms, this means we invite you to:

Come along for the ride, attending all the calls.
Receive support for your experiments.
Observe the Crew discussing core learnings and how they imagine integrating it within their work in NGL

Our experience in the learning labs that we run, which have the same structure, have shown this to create a deeply interdependent and supportive learning environment all round and we are confident that this will support learning and integration for you.

Introduction to the course

Where did the inspiration for this come from?

This course is being offered in response to increased desire and need for understanding about how to use the Experiments with Truth template within NGL.

It is being offered in recognition that the template offers a tangible way to make baby steps towards vision, which is wanted by so many of us.

Following the summer 2024 NVC Academy Course “Applying NVC in the World” and Responding to the Call of our times, where we shared about the template, and within NGL where we have coached some people, we sense the moment is ripe, and we are ready, to give a full introduction to the EwT Template.

The Experiments with Truth template came in response to the need for conscious experimentation within NGL. Born of the collaboration between Eddy Quinn and Quayle, it is an integration of experimentation in feedback and harvesting structures developed during NGL gatherings, and a Permaculture approach to capacity assessment, all situated within the Vision Mobilisation framework.

Session Descriptions

Session #1

Awakening truth within the gap

Why experiment? What does it all mean? What does it do? How do I choose what to experiment on? In this session, we plan to situate us in the larger “why” for Experiments with Truth template as well as supporting you to find the area that you want to experiment in.

Session #2

Directing our inquiry and setting our compass

Where am I going? How do I articulate my experimentation focus? In this session you start to construct your experiment starting with the initial questions that you want to explore.

Session #3

Taking stock of where we are

What do I build my experiment from? In this session we explore what the capacities and materials are that are available to you to build your experiment. We also look at why it is important to coalesce capacity in this way.

Session #4

Building the ship

What does it mean to build an experiment? How do you do it? In this session we start to design your experiment from the materials you gathered and get ready to set sail over the next few weeks break!

In this session we evaluate where you went, what you discovered, and what your journey yielded.

In this session we take a deeper look at your learnings, look at what you might want to use for future experiments and officially close your experiment.

Mobilising Towards Vision Packet

Nonviolent Global Liberation (NGL)

NGL is the home of the Vision Mobilisation Framework.

In NGL, we are motivated by a stubborn faith that another world is, indeed, possible and that we can, collectively, live into it even today. Since 2017, we have been experimenting with everything we know about how to respond to the gap.

We put all our life into our experiments, leaving no stone unturned. Our experiments are rooted in nonviolence and are both radical and practical. We engage at all levels, from reconceptualising intimacy and family to designing a model of global governance. We are not producers. We are not advisors. We are a community of practice.
