"BEHIND EVERY YOUNG CHILD WHO BELIEVES IN THEMSELVES IS A PARENT WHO BELIEVED FIRST."

-Matthew Jacobson

Below are resources to help support your child with their future pathways and career choices.

Support your young person as they start tertiary education

Here are some actions you can take to support your young person as they start their tertiary study:

Research the tertiary institute's and government support services

From counselling and mentoring to financial assistance, see what support systems are available.

Support your young person to stay healthy

There are vaccines available for students to protect them against diseases that pose a risk when living in close quarters like Halls of Residence. Speak to your GP.

Understand your young person's workload and encourage a life balance

By understanding your young person's workload you can help them to establish good study habits, including setting time aside to study, but also allowing time to socialise when they can. Getting involved in clubs and recreation activities is another way to learn new skills and meet new people.
