English Language Arts
NFV K-6 students receive strong universal core instruction in early literacy skills using the Iowa Core Literacy Standards, based on the science of reading. Students develop core skills necessary for becoming strong consumers of text and quality producers of writing. As students transition into secondary grade levels, the focus shifts to being critical readers of different informational texts, media, and genres of literature to become successful communicators through reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
