District Philosophy and Mission  

The District:

• recognizes each student as a unique individual, and believes that education should and can provide an opportunity for maximum development of the individual. 

• believes that the role of the teacher is to provide opportunities to achieve to the maximum individual capacity, create situations in which motivation to learn is the stimulus for achievement, instill creating thinking skills, and to promote the principles of the democratic way of life. 

• believed that parents must have confidence in the school and must pass that confidence on to their students. 

• believes that the students have responsibilities also. The student must attend school regularly, understand and acknowledge different viewpoints, come equipped with the necessary materials, and ready to fulfill his or her responsibilities in becoming a contributing member of society. 

• believes that all students must develop competency in reading, oral and written communication, science, and mathematics. 

Mission Statement:

The New Franklin R-1 School District, in partnership with parents and community, will provide a positive and safe learning environment in which all students will achieve the knowledge, skills, and social/emotional behaviors to become a creative, adaptable, and productive citizen committed to lifelong learning.
