The IB Visual Arts Exhibition opened this week. An opportunity for our Visual Art learners to curate their Exhibition space and present their body of work. They shared their inspirations and conceptual ideas to an audience of friends, teachers and parents.
The artists present diverse techniques using oil paints, acrylics, spray paint, ceramics, found objects, laser cut designed elements and digital artworks.
Join us in celebrating their two year Visual Art journey and congratulating the artists. Their work will remain on display until the end of term at the Atrium.
This year, Nexus Book Week has been a wonderful celebration of 'Telling our Stories.' There were many fantastic opportunities for our learners to discover new genres and topics they may not have considered before, and to engage with literature in a fun and exciting way.
The Secondary Learners had presentations from several visiting authors. Neil Humphreys, Kevin Wong, Shamini Flint, Dr. Wei Wei and creative Tobyato shared their stories and led talks to inspire our learners to take chances, to be confident and not to give up. A special thank you to the NCG parents who spent many hours turning the Eduvation Hub into a wonderful story telling space that the learners absolutely loved.
Several parents joined a teacher led workshop to learn about how to support emergent readers. Friday was our Book Character Dress Up day with many of our learners and staff members participating enthusiastically. We were visited by fairies, witches, giraffes, Harry, Matilda, Hermoine, Snow White and the Dwarfs along with a lot of other great characters.
We ended our week with our Secondary Learners buddying up with our Nursery and Primary Learners to share stories and talk about reading. We thank our community for making Book Week a success.
