Dear Parents and Guardians
I hope you have had a good week and can take advantage of the increased ability to socialise this weekend.
Whilst the restrictions still limit what we are able to do in school, I am pleased to share that the learners have been able to achieve a lot. Our Green Innovation week resulted in some innovative hats and outfits for Trashion and some power generation as learners converted energy on the bike and rowing machine. Thanks to Felix Tang and Shaoyuan Guo who created the websites to calculate power. Our Year 9 learners were engaged in authentic inquiry and problem solving, working alongside Victus, our caterers to identify solutions to some of the sustainability issues they face. We have also had theatre trips enjoying the complete works of Shakespeare and geography field trips completing authentic research.
Coming up, we have options talks to help you and your child plan ahead for the next stage of their curriculum. We welcome anyone who wants to learn more to join us and welcome you to join with your child so you can discuss things together. Also coming up is the Nexmas Sing-a-long where you and the family can join in and have some fun and see our talented learners perform. Please do go through the tabs on our newsletters to see more of what has been happening and what is coming up.
Finally, as the end of the semester approaches, we will be saying farewell to a few of our families as they relocate or return to their home countries. If your family is leaving us, please may I ask that you complete a Withdrawal Form at your earliest convenience. The Withdrawal Form can be found on the Parent Portal or by clicking here.
Wishing you all a great weekend
Best wishes
Dr Heather
