The Art Splash 2020 event opened on Wednesday, 5 January, transforming the Atrium into a vibrant and stimulating exhibition space. Learners from Nursery to Year 6 exhibited a wide variety of art forms to share with the school community. As part of the Learning Conferences, we welcome learners to share their artworks and knowledge with family and friends.
A wide range of artwork was on display including textiles from Year 6, a street lined with graffiti art from Year 5, ceramic creations from Year 4, painted Aboriginal totem poles from Year 3, Picasso inspired abstract relief sculptures from Year 2, a range of explorations from Year 1, textural artworks from Kindergarten and a wonderful interpretation of the “The lion and the rat” from our Nursery artists.
If you haven’t managed to come along yet, the exhibition has been extended to remain open for another week. Well done to all of our Primary Visual Art learners for contributing to such a vibrant display of learning.
Welcome back to our adventurous Year 5 learners from their residential trip to LooLa in Bintan. The three day trip was filled with fantastic opportunities to develop new friendships and to work as part of a team. Much fun was had while coconut tree climbing, boom-netting, dragon boating, pizza making and being risk takers on the fantastic flying fox.
The action taken by our learners to help construct safe water gardens in a nearby village was very well received by the local residents. This project that our learners have been involved in over the last few years, is an important contribution to the ongoing health and well being of the local community and we look forward to continuing this partnership. Well done Year 5 learners!
