Instrumental Lessons
At NEXUS we offer a range of instrumental lessons with experienced International tutors from Singapore and overseas. All of our tutors are active musicians in Singapore who aim to inspire and bring out our young musicians inner passions.
Our programme is inclusive and open to learners of all ages and abilities.
Instruments on offer are:
Violin, viola, cello and double bass
Guitar and Bass Guitar
Trumpet and Trombone
Flute, Clarinet and Saxophone
Piano
Jazz Piano
Vocals
We are also able to offer music theory lessons that in turn support examinations.
Many of our learners simply learn for fun and this results in them regularly participating in our music ensembles leading to recitals, concerts and gigs inside and outside of school. Some learners who wish to extend their learning further take ABRSM (Associated Board of Music), Trinity or Trinity Rock and Pop exams.
Whether you are new to learning an instrument or would simply like to start lessons again, we are able to offer trial lessons with one of our tutors. A 'try before you buy!'
Instruments are also available to rent and we are currently offering free rental for all brass and woodwind instruments.

Primary Music Ensembles Performance
Primary Music Ensembles Performance
We have been very lucky to commence the Primary Music Ensemble Programme again this term. It has been wonderful to have our budding musicians join our music groups and together make music. The sounds of beginner ukuleles, the school orchestra and even keyboards or drums have once again filled the rooms and corridors of our music department and there is an electric atmosphere.
Our ensemble leaders and learners would like to share what they have been learning and will be putting together a mini recording on Thursday 17th March to share over the holidays.
Next term we will be continuing with our ensembles and hope to be able to bring to you a live performance.
In addition we are pleased to announce that the Beginner Flute and Recorder Group and the Primary Choir will be restarting in Term 4. However, due to Covid guidelines only fully vaccinated learners can participate at this moment in time.

A Concert for Y4 and below.......
Very rarely is the opportunity in Singapore for live music suitable for young children; especially during COVID times. However this performance over the long Easter Weekend at Marina Bay Sands promises to be a real treat.
Our younger learners in Y4 and below will be familiar with the music of Saint-Saens "Carnival of the Animals" from their lessons with Mr Chris and Ms Tash as they have studied this in their music lessons.
Bring the music to life with a trip to the theatre where the famous music is set to Circus tricks and performances.
