The Year of Ox, 2021!

Happy Niu Year !

In celebrating the Chinese New Year of the Ox 2021, all the learners in Primary School were invited to the Languages Hub on Level 9 for a range of fun activities. The event spanned two days and was organised by our fantastic teams in LOTE (French and Chinese), BML and Music!

Learners had the opportunity to participate in a range of traditional Chinese games including iron hoop, fan dancing, Chinese calligraphy, traditional paper cutting and the handkerchief spinning to name but a few. It was a wonderful experience for our learners and one which they will be able to share with others wherever they go in the future.

The Lion Dance, an integral part of Chinese culture and a symbol of auspiciousness to mark the Chinese New Year was hosted differently this year due to Covid-19. The Lions moved from floor to floor to enhance the prosperity of our wonderful campus, visiting learners on Level 12 in the IB Diploma Programme all they way to our youngest learners in Nursery on Level 2. The Lions even had the chance to visit our newly opened treehouse!
