Our recent trip to Sims Vista Market and Food Centre offered Year 2 learners a wonderful chance to deepen their knowledge and skills while exploring the vibrant culture of Singapore. They observed the diverse languages on signs and experienced firsthand how they reflect Singapore’s rich cultural heritage. Learners interacted with stall owners, buying fruit to enjoy when we returned to school. Thank you to the parent volunteers who accompanied each class. We encourage families to build on this learning by exploring their neighbourhoods, and noticing the languages and cultural influences around them.
Our theatre learners recently had some incredible opportunities to attend live performances of Miss Saigon, Accidental Death of an Activist,The Mongol Khan, and Dear Evan Hansen. Each show offered unique insights into different storytelling styles, cultures, and technical stagecraft, enhancing learners' understanding and appreciation of theatre.
Experiencing live theatre is invaluable for learners. It deepens their comprehension of performance elements, from acting techniques to set design, and gives them a front-row view of how professional artists bring stories to life. These experiences inspire creativity and allow learners to analyse and reflect on the emotional impact of live performance—something that’s hard to replicate in the classroom.
We’re excited for more trips ahead, including SIX, Macbeth, and Wicked! Each show promises new learning experiences, from historical narratives to classic literature and iconic musical numbers. We’re thrilled to continue sharing the magic of theatre with our learners and watching them grow as both audiences and artists.

A group of 321 learners, supported by 32 staff, participated in week-long residential trips to Malaysia and Indonesia. While the objectives varied slightly, all learners gained a deeper understanding of environmental fragility and the importance of regeneration. Some took part in adventurous activities, camped overnight in the jungle, and engaged in community projects, including creating handicrafts, improving sanitation systems, and visiting a local school. These experiences helped learners develop resilience, broaden their cultural awareness, and engage meaningfully with local communities.
We hope that parents will enjoy listening to stories of adventures and learning more about their experiences this weekend. We will share more photos with you soon.
A talented group of learners from Years 11 to 13 represented our school at the Lenovo Hackathon 2024 and achieved outstanding results! Competing against learners from various schools, they showcased their innovation and technical expertise on the themes "Smart Sustainable Campus" and "Laptop of the Future."
Our learners won top awards, with one team crowned Champions, another placing 2nd, and two more teams in the top five. Their success highlights the strength and creativity of our learners in tackling real-world challenges.
Congratulations to all the participants for making us proud!
