The living world - Plants

In term 2, Room 2 has been learning about plants.

How do they grow? How can we look after them? Why do we need plants around us?

Farmer plants the seeds

Listen to this song to learn how plants grow and how to look after them.

The needs of a plant

What do plants need to survive?

Planting seeds.

How and why is it important that we take care of the plants around us?

"And what about butterflies?"

Butterflies are important pollinators. But "what does it mean?", you might ask.

It means that butterflies can carry pollen from plant to plant. This is what we call pollination. Some plants need pollination so that they can produce seeds, which can then grow into new plants. 🌱

It's pretty cool, isn't it? I wonder if our garden at school will attract many butterflies... What do you think?
