Message from Mrs Beecroft
Dear Grazebrook families
It's hard to believe that we have come to the end of another academic year. The staff are very proud of the incredible achievements and growth of all the children here at Grazebrook. This year's successes have been a testament to the dedication, hard work and collaborative spirit of our entire school community - children, staff and families. Above all, we are extremely grateful to all of you for the tremendous support we have received throughout the year. From smiles on the gates, to volunteering for trips and leading workshops, to participating in school events, your involvement in school life is what makes the school a very special place.
Thank you to those of you who were able to attend our summer project community celebration, Nursery and Year 6's graduation performances and Reception's 'Super Duper Me' showcase. We were really impressed by all the children's amazing performances and stunning identity art projects. Some of the projects will be on display around the school next year (thank you to the children who have kindly given permission for us to keep them for a year) and the rest will be making their way home today or at the start of next term. A big shout out to Michelle and Scarlett, for giving up your time to run the ballet and street dance workshops, both of which were a real highlight for the children who took part.
A special mention to all the families who have run events and fundraised for the school this year. The money raised from our year group bake sales will go towards our Animal Encounters experience for EYFS and KS1 children and orienteering and hands-on history workshops for KS2. In addition, due to the success of the wellbeing garden fundraising, we have now booked our outdoor woodcraft workshops in the autumn term where some of the older children will be making benches for the garden using reclaimed wood, small power tools and hand tools!
The Grazebrook Team would also like to say a huge well done to our absolutely fantastic Year 6 cohort who will be leaving us today to begin their new adventure at secondary school in September. We are very proud of them all and wish them every success in Year 7.
As always, the end of year also brings staff farewells. Ms Lowe will be leaving us as she is off on an adventure to Australia where she will be living and teaching for the next academic year - how exciting! We would also like to thank Ms Williams for her commitment to Year 6 whilst covering Ms Beecroft's maternity leave. The hard work and dedication to ensuring the children in their care achieve their very best from both staff members has been greatly appreciated.
We wish you all a restful and enjoyable summer break and look forward to welcoming the children back on Wednesday 4th September, refreshed and ready for another fantastic year.

Celebrating Ourselves
During our summer celebration project, the children took part in a series of creative workshops including: baking, art, drama, dance and photography. They then performed some of their newfound skills to their families as well as sharing their artwork with our wider school community.
Graduations and Showcases
Thank you Nursery for creating such beautiful artwork and putting on such an amazing show for your graduation. You were true Grazebrook role models of creativity and collaboration and your school adults and families were very inspired and proud you. To those of you who are starting new schools in September, we wish you the very best. We will miss you!
Thank you Year 6 for your absolutely brilliant musical showcase and performance of Midsummer Night's Dream. Your dedication during rehearsals and professionalism on the day was phenomenal. You have been role models of focus, kindness, responsibility, creativity and collaboration all year and we will miss your energy around the school. We hope you will pop in to see us next year and let us know how you are getting on at 'big school'! Take care of yourselves over the summer and good luck at your new schools.
Thank you Reception for putting on a sensational 'Super Duper Me' celebration yesterday. We loved your singing and spectacular art work. You are 100% ready for Year 1 and all your adults can't wait to see what you achieve next year!
Film Making
Our Year 5s and a selection of Year 3 and 4 children recently took part in film-making workshops which were kindly donated and run by Sparks Film School. The children had the opportunity to take on various roles, including director, camera operator, first assistant director and clapper loader to produce their own short films. Sparksarts are running a range of summer workshops over the summer. Please see the flyer below for further details.
