Dear Grazebrook Families
As we come to the end of another wonderful school year, we want to take this opportunity to celebrate the many successes of our children and to thank you, our families, for the incredible support you have shown.
This year, our pupils have impressed us all with their enthusiasm, hard work and kindness. From the excitement of sports days and assembly performances to the dedication shown in their learning every day, they have made us proud in so many ways. Their focus, creativity, collaboration and responsibility continue to inspire us all, and it has been a privilege to watch them grow, both academically and personally.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the strong partnerships we share with you. Your encouragement at home, your presence at school events and your trust in us as educators make a huge difference. We are so grateful for the way you support your children’s learning and for being such an important part of our school community.
A reminder that today, Monday 21st July, the children in Reception to Year 5 have taken part in their Moving Up Morning and spent time in their new class with their new teacher. Please make a note in your diary of the dates of the Meet the Teacher sessions listed below. These will all take place at 3.40pm in your child's new class or partner class - location details can be found in the new class letter.
We are also holding a neurodivergence family information session at 9.15am on Thursday 4th September, led by Emma Fitzgerald, a CAMHS Clinical Psychologist. You do not need to book a place, please just sign in at the office on the day if you wish to attend.
As we look forward to a new school year, we are excited about the opportunities ahead and the memories still to be made. For now, we wish you a restful and happy summer holiday filled with fun, family and laughter. Thank you once again for helping to make our school such a special place. We look forward to seeing you back at school on Wednesday 3rd September.

A huge thank you to our fabulous PSA committee and all the volunteers who organised and ran a fantastic summer fair. Thank you also to all the children and families who visited the fair creating a wonderful community event whilst raising over £10,000!
We are marking the end of term with one final fundraiser tomorrow, Tuesday 22nd July. Children may come to school in their own clothes to celebrate themselves and all their hard work this year. There will be donation QR codes that can be scanned to make a payment and PSA volunteers on the gates collecting cash. Once again thank you in advance for your generosity.
We would also like to give a big shout out to all the families who have donated baked goods and run our Friday treats stalls across the year. Over £1500 has been raised which will pay for a wide range of enrichment activities such as an Animal Encounter, Orienteering in Hyde Park, Woodberry Wetland and British Museum Workshops.
What a fantastic way to celebrate the end of primary school! On Friday, our Year 6 pupils wowed us all with their incredible performance of High School Musical. The energy, talent and teamwork they showed on stage was phenomenal.
As they prepare to move on to secondary school, we couldn’t be prouder of everything they have achieved during their time here. They have been wonderful role models, kind friends and incredible learners and we will miss them greatly. We wish them all the very best as they take this exciting next step in their journey.
We are so proud of all our Nursery children who recently graduated and will now be making their way into Reception next year. The children treated us to a wonderful show then enjoyed a picnic with their families in the Nursery grounds. To those children starting new schools in September, we wish you well and thank you for all the hard work and kindness you have demonstrated whilst at Grazebrook.
Year 4 finished off a year of incredible science learning with a trip to the Wonderlab at the Science Museum last week. They were able to put their scientific knowledge to the test by carrying out a range of investigations and challenges whilst having lots of fun together!
In their design and technology lessons this half term, Year 3 have been studying food technology. They designed sandwiches using their knowledge of nutrition from their science learning. They then collaborated to create their culinary masterpieces and enjoyed eating them afterwards - they were made even more tasty by knowing how nutritional they were!
Year 1 celebrated the end of their history topic about The Monarchy by dressing up as their favourite king or queen. They then ended the day with a royal coronation tea party!
This half term, they have also been very busy creating some amazing home learning projects and using their observational skills in art to draw birds.
As part of our ongoing work with the charity Redstart, Year 6 visited State Street. Whilst there, they attended workshops about different careers and took part in a range of problem-solving activities which required strategic thought and lots of teamwork.
Year 2 were fortunate to be joined by a vet (Lily's dad), who spoke to them about animals and how to care for them. The children's focus shone through as they made connections to their science topic on animals including humans.
2G travelled back in time during their visit to the Ragged School Museum where they experienced a Victorian classroom.
Earlier in the term, Year 3 visited Britannia Leisure Centre to take part in an Olympic Legacy sports event. The children participated in a range of sports and physical activities, coming home with medal to celebrate their achievements.
Year 5 loved celebrating their full token jar by making pizzas in class. They then got to enjoy their efforts in the sunshine together.
If you have any queries regarding your child's learning, the first point of contact is your child's class teacher. You can speak to them at the end of the day or contact our school office to arrange a phone call or face-to-face meeting. At times, you may wish to contact the member of staff in charge of your child's year group. At Grazebrook, these are:
Nursery and Reception: Ms Kelly O'Callaghan (EYFS Leader)
Year 1 and Year 2 and SENCo: Ms Alex Stockbridge (Assistant Headteacher)
Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6: Ms Simone Bunbury (Deputy Headteacher)
All email queries, including those for the attention of a class teacher or school leader, should be sent to gboffice@newwavefederation.co.uk in the first instance with the addressee and/or topic in the subject line. These will be forwarded to the relevant member of staff.
