All traffic enters the main entrance as guided by our traffic support staff. Please drive slowly and give room between vehicles as we have vehicles entering from two streets (Halite and Peridot).
Vehicles should NOT park and allow students to walk through the parking lot as we will not have crossing guards in the main parking lot during drop off.
Traffic proceeds around the parking lot to the unloading area (Drop Off Zone) along the curb of the main NVCS building.
All vehicles must drive as far forward along the curb in front of the school as possible before they drop off their child(ren). Our staff will ask you to move forward and signal for you to stop. Please do not move forward until you are signaled to do so. Students are exiting vehicles in 1 lane parents are expected to wait in the single lane until the car in front of them moves forward.
The Drop Off Zone where students can be safely unloaded is directly in front of the school. Please do not drop students off anywhere other than the Drop Off Zone.
Students should always exit the vehicle from the passenger side of the vehicle. If your student is not exiting out of the passenger side, our support staff will not see them and they are at risk and in an unsafe situation.
WALKERS/BIKERS: PLEASE ARRIVE USING THE PERIDOT SIDEWALK AS WE WILL HAVE CROSSING GUARDS TO ASSIST STUDENTS SAFELY TO CAMPUS AT THE CROSSWALK OF PERIDOT AND HALITE STREET.
ONCE STUDENTS HAVE EXITED THE VEHICLE THEY WILL USE THE SIDEWALK ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE BUILDING TO WALK TO THE OUTSIDE COURTYARD/PLAYGROUND LOCATED AT THE BACK OF THE BUILDING
Every vehicle must have a vehicle number placard which is available through the school office. This number is placed on the rear view mirror of the pick-up vehicle.
If more than one vehicle is used for pickup, additional copies of the number may be requested.
All traffic enters the one-way drive entrance to the campus off of Peridot and Halite.
Due to multiple streets our staff will be directing traffic, please drive slowly and be patient with our staff as they are trying to make this the most efficient process possible.
Vehicle numbers are entered into our driveline system as vehicles proceed through the main entrance. The teacher and students receive the message on the electronic whiteboard in the student’s classroom and the student is released to a holding area when called by the office.
All cars are funneled into two lines and are grouped in the order they arrive.
Parents are asked to please remove their vehicle ID once all their child(ren) are loaded in their vehicle to signal to our staff that their student is secure in their car and the loading zone can be released to exit.
The cars are released and must exit out of the parking lot. Incoming traffic will be held (stopped) by our traffic support staff to allow the vehicles to exit the loading zone. Once the loading zone is clear, the driveline will move and cars that have been held on Halite and Peridot will be directed into the lot.
For communication purposes and safety, parents MUST refrain from using their cell phone in the ALL AREAS OF THE DRIVELINE.
Students who walk or ride their bicycle, scooter, or skateboard are released at the South door, near the outdoor art classroom. If a parent is walking home with their child, they must present their number ID placard to the staff member at this door.
Bikes, scooters, skateboards are not to be ridden on school property during school hours from 7:30-4:00 pm. They should be dismounted and walked, or carried, while on school property.
Parents should not drop their children off or pick up their children on Peridot or Halite. Vehicles should slow down and yield at the crosswalk for pedestrians and FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS OF OUR TRAFFIC SUPPORT STAFF.
Cell phone free zone: Parents please stay off your phones throughout the driveline process to ensure safety and efficiency.
For pick up, parents should always use the pick-up line and not park in the parking lot and come into the school to pick up their child. Parking areas will be blocked by cones from 3:30-4:00.
When exiting driveline be aware of your route and take routes that will not back up the flow of traffic on Peridot or Halite.
Parents traveling to our 1st Street Campus: Do not enter the K-3 Driveline off of Denver as it will cause a traffic hazard and cause backup in BOTH drivelines.
If you are heading East please use the exit that feeds onto Denver (Halite St).
If you are headed West, please use the 1st Street Exit (Peridot Ave)
If a student needs to be picked up early, they should be picked up before 3:10 p.m.
Please avoid using the parking lot of the Larimer County Building across the street from New Vision. Help us to be good neighbors.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO ALWAYS BE PATIENT, COURTEOUS & RESPECTFUL DURING DROP OFF AND PICK UP. IT’S IMPORTANT THAT WE ALL MODEL GOOD CITIZENSHIP TO OUR STUDENTS.
