The purpose of the Spanish Honor Society is to recognize high achievement in Spanish by students of secondary schools and to promote continuity of interest in Hispanic studies. Members of the society serve as peer tutors for other Spanish students.
The Spanish Club provides Spanish students the opportunity to use Spanish outside the classroom and to learn more about the Hispanic Culture. Trips are taken to see Spanish movies and plays, performances of Spanish and Latin American dancers and musicians, and to dine at Spanish and Mexican restaurants. For example, in the past the Spanish club has had a variety of trips which culminated with a visit to the State Theater and a special guest presentation to teach them popular Hispanic dances.
