Questions and Answers for Students:

Why do I have to do homework?

The reason I assign homework is for you to practice what we study in school. Doing your homework every night is an important part of learning good work habits and responsibility.

How much homework will I have?

You will have homework Monday through Thursday nights. Each night you should read for 30 minutes and practice your math facts. Additionally, you will be working on long term projects and any incomplete assignments from school.

What are my responsibilities?

If you can, do your homework as early as possible, so you are free the rest of the evening. Choose a quiet place to work, away from the TV and other distractions. Put forth your best effort for about 30 minutes. Homework should be done neatly and carefully. You should try your hardest to do as much of the homework as you can by yourself. If you don’t understand something, you can ask for help. If you still don’t understand, skip that part of the assignment, and ask me to help during morning work the next day. After finishing your homework, check it over, then put it in your folder, and put your folder in your backpack.

What if I am absent?

If you are absent, you should check in with MBJ when you return to school. I will save any worksheets you miss and you should complete them for the following school day.
