Welcome to Summer 2026!

The Newton Public Schools Library Department is delighted to share our annual Summer Reading lists and activities with the community. These book lists are developed in collaboration with the Newton Free Library, and the book talks are created by Newton Free Library librarians. Be sure to check out their amazing Summer Reading Program, too! The theme this year is Plant A Seed - Read!

The resources shared below are not required reading. Instead, they are meant to be a helpful guide for students and families to discover books to enjoy throughout June, July, and August. We hope every student finds stories that spark curiosity, imagination, laughter, and joy.

If your child has specific summer reading assignments, please reach out directly to the appropriate school or department.

Wishing you a summer filled with adventures, relaxation, and lots of joyful reading.

Happy Summer and Happy Reading!
