Proposal

Original Proposal:

CAPS is something that I have been looking forwards too for a very long time. As a student that doesn't

enjoy traditional classes and lessons, I see CAPS as a way for me to learn in a non-traditional, and

frankly more interesting, way. This program will also be a major stepping stone in my career, and a major

resume addition, that I will be able to reference for my entire life.

I will be interning with my mentor, Ned Wellbery, at his company Leedz Edutainment. Leedz is a concert

promotion company, that runs almost every Hip Hop show in MA. Their office is located at The Middle

East Restaurant and Nightclub in Cambridge. I will be working in their office, assisting Ned and his

partners, and organizing events for the Middle East.

For me, fulfilling the internship hours will be easy, because I will be working in a place that I genuinely

want to be working in. The web portfolio and presentation will be something that I will fit in to my schedule

in the time that I might normally do homework, or when I am not in my internship.

This internship is something that I have dreamed of since I was in middle school. I will not only be working

in the industry that I want to work in after college, but I will be working with one of the top companies in

MA, and working with some of the most famous Hip Hop acts in the country.

My main concern will be scheduling my hours and coordinating transportation. I still have to take gym 2nd

semester, so I will need to fit that into my schedule. I also will have to get to Cambridge consistently. I do

have access to a car, but not daily access. These are both solvable problems though.

I have been working in concert and party promotion for a little under a year on my own. I have

implemented it into my business (Sonex DJ Co.), and have successfully run several events on my own. I

have been working in the music industry since I was 11, so the industry is very familiar to me. This

internship will help specialize and concentrate my work in a specific area of the industry.
