209 - Elizabeth Ross, Tina Fiscella, and Michelle Shuman

Elizabeth came to Newton in 1999 by way of five years in the Sudbury public schools. In addition to being certified in early childhood education and elementary education, Elizabeth also completed a principal training program but loves the classroom too much to leave it. Besides teaching, Elizabeth loves being with her family, including husband Jason and sons Jackson and Luca, two Angier graduates, one in college (Go UVM Catamounts!) and one in 11th grade. Her hobbies are reading, writing, birding, gardening, and walking Nico, her dog. She is a tenacious advocate for social justice.

Tina, who grew up in New York, arrived to teach in Newton in 2005 after teaching in Manhattan for 10 years. She was at Horace Mann for a year before coming to the Achieve program at Angier. Although Tina is the special education teacher in our classroom, she is dual certified in both special ed and regular ed. When not teaching, Tina loves to be with her husband, Ron, her son, Jack and her dog, Chloe. She enjoys hiking, golfing, traveling, and reading.
