ROHAN IYENGAR

Artist Statement

Hi! My name is Rohan Iyengar. I am a senior at Newton South High School in Newton, Massachusetts. Art is my happy place. From getting my hands dirty on a potter's wheel to transforming a blank canvas into a painting, art is where I seek and find my calm. 

Art is also the medium through which I care for myself and maintain my mental well-being. It has helped me get through the difficult, isolated times of the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Finally, art is my medium to showcase things I care about deeply. A painting or a sculpture can be a powerful tool to convey an impactful message. I will continue to use my art to advocate for causes that are important to me. I hope you enjoy my work.
