The Newton Sough High School "South Senate" focus on passing school legislation that aims to empower student voices, foster improvements to school policy, and promote student excellence. In the past year, we have got new/more chairs in the student center, textbooks/study material in the library, and passed bills. Yes, sometimes. On occasion, Senate and Office will overlap and collaberate, planning schoolwide events, fundraisers, and other events, like the LipDub.

The South Senate meets during WIN 1 every week in room 1204.

Yes! Sounds like Senate is the prefect fit! To join, wait for the spring student elections (10, 11, 12) or fall (9), and join info meetings during WIN blocks in the spring (you will hear about them via. StudentSquare).
