We use the Responsive Classroom approach throughout each day to foster a safe, supportive learning environment and build social-emotional skills. Although this work is woven into everything we do, third graders will also engage in many different activities, read alouds, and discussions to help them:
set and achieve goals
regulate and manage their own emotions while showing self-compassion
show empathy and take on another's perspectice
establish and maintain positive relationships
make responsible decisions
