Find a workspace away from distractions.
Keep supplies you will need to complete your work (pencils, ruler, dictionary, etc.).
Choose a consistent time to complete your work each day.
Carefully read ALL of the directions before beginning your work. Be sure to ask an adult if you need any help.
Put your name, #, and date at the top of each assignment.
Read ALL of the directions carefully.
Complete all assignments to the best of your ability.
Turn your work in on time.
Read at least 20 minutes each night. Read aloud to others at least 2 nights each week.
Potentially redo work that does not show signs of best effort.
Stay aware of your child's assignments and due dates.
Allow child to work as independently as possible and do not correct their mistakes.
Contact me (via email or a note on the assignment) if there is any confusion, concern, or if you feel your child needs extra support.
Read regularly with your child. It's always great to have a book that you're reading together to build so many skills, including discussing the book!
Provide clear expectations of assignments.

Evaluate work in a timely manner. Provide support for any areas of confusion.
