Dear 3-G Families,
I hope you had a wonderful summer and are getting excited for the upcoming year in 3rd grade! I have been busy getting the room ready for your visit next week. I can’t wait to hear about your summer activities! I was excited that the tennis courts finally opened up this summer so I could play my favorite sport! I also got a chance to travel to New York, Cape Cod, and Hermit Lake, New Hampshire with my family. I especially enjoyed kayaking on the lake every day, where I got to observe beaver lodges and turtles!
In 3rd grade, we will try out new ideas and learn new skills, as we become better readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, and historians. Some of the topics we will be studying this fall are: trees of New England, the geography of Massachusetts, and the Wampanoag tribe of southeastern Massachusetts. I can’t wait to start learning with you!
I am looking forward to seeing you next week at our orientation meetings online and in person. We will do some getting to know you activities and review classroom routines. Our school year officially starts September 21st, but we will be learning remotely until the week of September 29th. The 3-G community awaits!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Gannon
