Memorial Spaulding kids LOVE the Halloween Fitness/Fun Obstacle!! The objective of the course is for students to learn and experience the FUN of FITNESS! Students get to CLIMB the Great Wall of Pumpkins, BALANCE over the Spooky Graveyard, SWING on a rope over the Witches Cauldron, ROLL through the Pumpkin Patch, CRAWL through the Bat Cave and WALK through the Maze!!

As part of the Massachusetts Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program, our school participates in a pedestrian safety training for students in the 2nd grade. This program is committed to preparing children to be safety smart wherever they are walking, including when they are accompanied by an adult.
Please ask your kids how they can be safe walking to school or in the neighborhood!
During the school day, all 4th and 5th grade students will learn about bike safety. Dawn Fleming, who is the Newton Bike Safety Police Officer will give a presentation in the auditorium on May 10th, 2019.
Please ask your kids what they learned about bike safety and go our for a ride with them!!
VOTED #1 Most Memorable PEHW event by 5th graders!! After weeks of learning the skills and rules of Volleyball and practicing teamwork and communication, 5th graders play against MS staff in the annual volleyball game. The whole school is invited to come to the game during their time slot to watch their teachers and students BUMP, SET, SPIKE!!

Color Day is the end of the year all school event, involving students, staff and families. It's a day of FITNESS, Cooperation and FUN outside on the upper and lower fields. Students work on showing cooperation and teamwork with their classes, as they move to different physical activity stations. Families sign up to run the stations, so we can't do it without you!! Please sign up on the Color Day sign up genius, so everyone can have a fun and safe day! The more volunteers, the BETTER :)
