K-5 General Music

All elementary students have music for 30 minutes once a week. Third grade students will have an additional 30 minutes of recorder class once a week. Please take a look at the Newton Public Schools music curriculum below to see an overview of what we learn in each grade.

All fourth grade students will have the opportunity to learn a new band or string instrument throughout the school year. Once in fifth grade, students will meet in a full ensemble to further develop musicianship skills.
