In 2017, my mom brought all 4 of her kids to start a new life in America from Taiwan, and had to be away from her hometown and husband. This experience has shaped who she is today. Before immigrating to America, her schedule was filled with taking care of her kids and never getting enough sleep. There is a lot of house work to be done including preparing dinner for almost 10 people and volunteering at school on top of that. The major change so far is that when the kids get older, she finally has her own time to think about her life, career, ambition and finally have time to rest. The new environment has excited her to explore so many things and experience. Workload has not decreased, it has become more meaningful and interesting. The most difficult part is to be ready mentally and make sure all her 4 kids feel secure. Her consultant took care of the whole immigration procedure, so it never stressed her out. She believes the best way to deal with the stress of moving from another country is to be calm, believing everything will be fine, facing a beautiful whole new world is nothing to be scared of. Do not be afraid to ask your friend or neighbor for help, our public resources are also very willing to help.
