This is my tenth year working in the Newton Public School system. I first started doing my student teaching back in 2007 and I was fortunate enough to be hired as a 1:1 special education assistant in 2008, after completing my Bachelors degree. In 2009 I completed the Behavior Therapist training and became the behavioral therapist for the Elementary Stabilization Program. During my time working as a behavioral therapist I completed my Masters degree through American International College. I was given the opportunity to become the full time Inclusion Facilitator for Countryside Elementary School in 2013.

I have two beautiful daughters with my husband David. Our oldest is Jordyn, age 2 and our newest addition is Jayda, who is 6 months old. We love doing everything as a family from cookouts and swimming to playing sports and doing our nighttime stories before bed.

I take pride in being a teacher and look forward to seeing the smiles on the students' faces when they arrive at school. My philosophy of education is that all children are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially.

I have had the pleasure of teaching at Countryside Elementary in a variety of positions over the past eight years, spending the last four as an Inclusion Facilitator. I received my Bachelor's Degree from UMass Amherst, and later earned my Masters of Education from UMass Boston. Prior to my time at Countryside, I worked as an outdoor educator at Nature's Classroom and as a teaching assistant at Perkins School for the Blind in their Deafblind program.

Over the years, I have realized that children learn best when they are supplied with personalized, engaging, and challenging instruction in a healthy, caring, and safe environment. I am thankful to be a part of a community that works collaboratively to support all students in this manner. There is nothing more rewarding than providing students with the tools they need to achieve their goals.

Outside of school, I live with my husband, Steve, who also works as a special educator. We enjoy camping, cooking, cheering for Boston sports teams, and spending time with our two corgis, Archer & Griffin. We recently purchased an SUV that has been converted into a camper, so we can't wait to spend our school vacations road tripping throughout North America!
