Math Support
Tips for Supporting Students at home with Fact Fluency Development:
Keep it fun: make practice a game.
Never time fact practice: research shows student achievement plummets and math anxiety is heightened when students are timed.
Focus on strategies: If your child is fluent with 8+8, encourage him/her to use that fact to solve 8+7 and 8+9.
Focus on a few facts each time: for example, practice doubles or doubles +1.
