Cross Country 2019

Registration and Information

The following three (3) steps must be completed before your child can participate on the cross country team. If the following steps are not completed by Friday, 9/13, your child will not be eligible to participate.

1. Registration: Register your child on FamilyID. Once on FamilyID, Scroll down the page and click on 2019 Fall Athletics Registration. Click Register Now. Create an account if you are new to FamilyID. Once you create an account, don’t forget to register your child for cross country and fill out necessary consent and medical information.

2. User Fee: Families can pay the $180 user fee online (http://www.newton.k12.ma.us/feebasedprograms) OR with check. Checks can be made out to City of Newton and be returned to Coach Brady. Families can apply for a financial waiver at the above address.

3. Health Documentation: All student athletes must have a hard copy of a completed physical on file with our school nurse Sue Schy (617-552-7746). Practice starts Wednesday 9/11/19. To be eligible for the entire season, the physical must be completed and dated AFTER 8/11/18. Physical forms must be submitted to the nurse AND the FamilyID registration must be completed before she can give your child a clearance. Athletes need to check with Coach Brady before 9/11/19 to see if they are cleared to practice.

Other Important Information:

IMPACT Test – All athletes must complete The IMPACT Test (concussion baseline test). It takes approximately 40 minutes to complete. Coach Brady will announce dates for taking the test at the first practice.

Running Shoes: Athletes need appropriate shoes for running. No tennis or basketball sneakers.

“I Can Do It” Attitude: We pride ourselves on being a positive, hard-working team. Believing in yourself and trusting that you can do it (run, train, race) if you try, will go a long way in helping you to improve your time. YOU can do it!

First Practice: If all steps are completed, the first practice for participating athletes will be Wednesday 9/11.
