Spring Registration Opens March 1, 2026
All athletes must be registered on Arbiter/FamilyID in order to participate/tryout. Registration must be done every season. Registering on FamilyID is the only way to sign up for athletic programs and intramurals. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Share a copy of current physical (within last 13 months) with the health office prior to first practice/tryout. NO EXCEPTIONS- you will not be able to fully participate until this is completed. Physicals expiring mid season will make the athlete inelligible so its important to note the date of the next wellness visit to avoid interruption in participation.
Athletes should attend the informational meeting prior to the season beginning. Meeting times will be posted in Family newsletters, via school announcements, and on this website. If an athlete in unable to attend the meeting they should contact the head coach.
Show up on the first day of tryouts or practice! All athletic programs will take place 4 days a week ( Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday) at the Albemarle fields (or FA Day Gym for basketball) with no scheduled activities on Wednesdays. Practices are 2:35-3:55 PM with games/meets typically range from 3:30- 6:00 PM. Late bus available after practice at 4:10 PM. No late bus availability for games.
Pay the User Fee or apply for Fee waiver (see below) AFTER you are confirmed on the roster and before the first game/meet.
All Athletic and Intramural Program participants pay the Athletic User Fee regardless of the number of days they meet: MS Athletics User Fee ($240/season with a family cap of $720/academic year). Sports meet 4x/week (M,T,Th,F) and Intramurals meet 2x/week (T.B.D.)
Participation: It is the intent of athletic programs to provide opportunities for participation for as many students as possible. Adult supervision, safety concerns, playing time, and available facilities may result in roster caps or try outs. During Pre-season Information Meetings, coaches will advise parents and students of the cap/try-out criteria and participation policy for each sport. Athletes who may be cut, or voluntarily leave a team may not register for another sport if the sport is at capacity. Every effort will be made to accommodate as many students as possible. To be fair to all, athletes of our sports team are expected to attending all practice and game/meet with the exception of unplanned absences. Families and students should have a shared understanding of the commitment expectations. Families and students looking for less or more flexible athletic commitments to balance with outside of school commitments should consider Intramurals and our club offerings
Interscholastic policies: A student/athlete is always a student first. A student/athlete must participate in his/her daily classes and demonstrate postive character attributes in order to participate in our after school athletics program and clubs. Coaches will work with parents, teachers, guidance, and their athletes insure success in the classroom and on the field.
Fees: There is a user fee for athletes who participate on a team. The user fee amount per sport and intramural is $240 . User fee can be paid online through MySchoolbucks or by check/cash (Payable to Newton Public Schools) to the coach.
