My Family Story

When my father was a young child he was a very picky eater. One of the only foods he would eat were pineapples. But this was during World War II, and due to rationing, very few pineapples were available in Brooklyn! So because he wouldn't eat, he ended up being hospitalized for malnutrition and was one of the first people to be fed intravenously. We told this story to my children saying "if you're a picky eater, you'll have to go to the hospital and stuck with needles, like Grandpa!" And none of them were ever picky.
